A letter I wrote to my Senators (Murray and Cantwell)
It might be very, very naive of me to still hold on to a shred of hope for a Single-Payer health care system, but I do. I hope you can rally other senators to stand up to the insurance giants and tell them that workers like me, with company supplied medical insurance, would really like to see the 350 billion dollars in savings we could get with a single-payer system.
These savings would pay for a public option. Completely. Every American covered and regular workers with a choice between a work plan and a public option.
I know there are many people calling Democrats every dirty name they can think of from the 1950s. I know it’s very hard to go forward without support. I just wanted to write to tell you that I support you. I’ve voted for you in every election and if you fight for me, I’ll vote for you again.
